London, MEFD – At a time when major protests rage in scores of cities in Iran against dire economic conditions, the government’s foreign military interventions and repressive policies at home, and the Islamic Republic’s persistent engagement in planning and executing acts of terrorism in EU member states, it is extremely regrettable to witness Nathalie Tocci, Special Adviser to EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, conducting an interview with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard affiliated Tasnim news agency, in which she effectively propagates and justifies the positions of the Iranian regime.
Middle East Forum for Development considers Tocci’s engagement with a news agency that was founded to disseminate the doctrine of Iran’s religious dictatorship, justify the authorities’ human rights abuses and spout hatred against European values and principles, deplorable.
