atena-daemiLondon, MEFD – According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 29-year-old Iranian civil rights activist Atena Daemi was violently arrested on the morning of 26 November at her father’s residence by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and subjected to threats. Ms Daemi was subsequently transferred by the IRGC to Evin prison in order to serve a 7 year prison sentence. (more…)

Narges Mohammadi1London, MEFD – Narges Mohammadi, an already-imprisoned renowned human rights activist and vice president of the Defenders of Human Rights Center in Iran, has been sentenced to serve ten years of a sixteen-year prison sentence following a new trial which was chaired by notorious Judge Abolghasem Salavati, head of the 15th division of Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court.
